Speciation
What is speciation and its role in evolution?
Speciation is the process of evolution, where new species form. Speciation happens in following three steps: Separation, Adaptation, and
Reproductive Isolation. Like the picture above, there are a single species of fruit flies, then they were separated and had different food source now. This is called separation. Then they have adapted to its environment/habitat (this is called adaptation) and when they are reunited, they are so different now they aren't able to interbreed. Then this process is called Reproductive Isolation. Its role in evolution is that its the process where new species are made, so when there is a new species in a population that means it has evolved.
